 PROCESS FOR DEBRIS REMOVAL- January 28, 2025

Before any removal can take place, Phase 1 requires the Environmental Protection Agency to go house by house (they have already started on PCH), and remove various toxin's from each home.  Prior to each home being cleared by the EPA, your lot needs to be registered for Phase 2 of Debris removal.  You have 2 choices, Opting IN for the county themselves to remove the debris, or Opting OUT and doing it yourself through a debris removal company and/or contractor (i.e. my company).  If you OPT IN, you are giving the county the right to remove everything for free if you aren't insured, and if you are, any and all money from your policy for debris removal will be fully forfeited to them for removal.  If you OPT OUT, you would register for a removal permit and have the debris removed yourself through my company.  We would do everything we can to keep the costs low for the removal so that you can have some money retained from your policy, and use it towards your rebuild.

Scroll down to (Your Options: Opt-In or Opt-Out) and click on the + sign for(Option 2: Opt-Out and Manage Cleanup Independently)

Step 2: Apply for the Permit from the county's EPIC-LA portal. Click on this link: https://epicla.lacounty.gov/energov_prod/SelfService/#/home

Step 3: When in the EPIC-LA website, 1st register yourself into the system, then click on the APPLY box

Step 4: Type "Demo" in the search bar and press enter

Step 5: The 4th option down will be "Demolition Permit - County", click on apply
